Cops: Man slain in easy chair as drug deal revenge
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Greenville police say a man was shot in May while sitting in his easy chair was killed by someone angry with his stepson over a drug deal.
Investigators said Monday that 25-year-old Travis Hines was charged with murder in the May 17 death of 54-year-old Calvin King.
Police say King was struck by a bullet that went through a window into the front room of his home.
Investigators say Hines felt he was wronged by King’s stepson during a drug deal earlier in the day and fired his gun into the home as revenge.
Hines is being held in the Greenville County jail. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.
