Boeing opens customer delivery center on SC campus
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Boeing has opened the customer delivery center where airlines will take custody of their Dreamliners.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported (http://bit.ly/vWLSpa) that the last building on Boeing’s North Charleston campus opened Friday. Airline officials will come to the building beginning next year to get their Dreamliners.
Construction of the Boeing campus began on a former swamp less than two years ago.
The center is three floors and almost 58,000 square feet of office and event space. It is the first delivery center in the Boeing inventory to have passenger boarding bridges through which customers can walk directly onto their parked 787s
