SC library has story time for special needs kids

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A Richland County library is starting a first-ever story time reading program for special needs children.

Student librarian Anna Zacherl says the program is scheduled for 3 p.m. on the third Saturday of every month at the Sandhills Branch Library in Columbia.

While all events at the libraries are open to all children, Zacherl says this event helps the library reach out to special needs children and their families, who may not have felt comfortable attending other programs.

Zacherl says parents should call 803-699-9230 to let the library know what accommodations may be necessary for any of the children.
