Memorial service planned for teen killed in crash

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Classmates at Hilton Head Preparatory are getting ready to say goodbye to a 17-year-old senior killed in a crash.

A memorial service for Kendall Walton is scheduled for Monday afternoon.

Walton died when the 2008 BMW she was driving ran off the road and struck a tree Thursday night. Four others teens in the car were injured. Troopers are still investigating the wreck.

Hilton Head Prep headmaster Anthony Kandel says the school will have counselors available all next week to talk to students.
