Pelzer boy dies after being hit by 2 vehicles
GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — An eight-year-old Pelzer boy has died several days after he was struck by two vehicles while trying to cross a road in Greenville County.
Deputy Coroner Barry Wright says Phillip Gregory Bennett Jr. of Pelzer died about 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Billy Elder says the boy was hit Thursday while walking along a road near Pelzer. Elder says the boy was hit by a sports utility vehicle and then a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction.
