SC police delivering Thanksgiving baskets to needy

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Police in Columbia are spreading some holiday cheer in the form of Thanksgiving baskets.
Chief Randy Scott says officers are going around town Tuesday to deliver baskets to some needy families and senior citizens.
The officers are from Scott’s Assisting Columbia’s Elderly and Proactive Community Enforcement teams.
Scott says the baskets were provided by the Oliver Gospel Mission. They include frozen turkeys and non-perishable food items.
