Black Friday Trials and Triumphs

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The day after Thanksgiving is survival of the fittest, for sure, with customers being out for themselves. However, the so-called madness could pay off for retailers. Shopper surveys have suggested holiday spending this year will rise between two and four percent from last year. Toys R Us on Harbison Boulevard, in Columbia opened Thanksgiving night, while many folks were still at the dinner table. At midnight, electronics retailer, Best Buy on Two Notch Road lured in customers. In spite of the hurried rush, many say they’d do it all again. Cyber Monday, the official kickoff to the online shopping season, starts Monday, November 28.
