Caregivers to get tips at SC Alzheimer’s workshop
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A workshop in Myrtle Beach is designed to help relatives and caregivers learn how best to care for patients suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Dementia Care Strategies, Inc. is hosting the workshop on Wednesday. Attendees will learn how damage in the brain impacts the person’s ability to function, the stages of dementia and how they relate to abilities. There is also information about the role confusion plays in behavior and that behavior is how a person with dementia communicates unmet needs.
Repetitive questioning, angry and agitated behavior, sleep problems and problems with personal care will all be covered in the workshop.
