Sumter Dog Fighting Bust, Suspects Sought

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO) — A dog fighting ring in Sumter County is exposed after authorities are tipped off by a resident. One person was arrested and police are looking for more suspects. Deputies responded to an abandoned residence on Pinewood Rd., November 30, after receiving a call from a citizen who claimed to have heard what seemed to be dogs fighting. According to police, items seized at the location include dog fighting paraphernalia, drugs, and stolen vehicle parts. 20-year-old Andy Franklin was arrested at the scene while several others fled the scene.
