Lott: 8 rescued pit bulls ready for adoption
RICHLAND, S.C. (AP) — Richland County deputies say pit bulls rescued from a dogfighting ring are now ready for adoption.
Sheriff Leon Lott said Monday there are eight dogs ready to be adopted.
In all, 24 dogs were seized when authorities conducted a raid on Richland County land in September.
Lott says most of the dogs have been placed, but eight are still looking for new homes.
Lott says two people face dogfighting charges, and a third has been charged with attempted murder for trying to run over a deputy during the raid.
