(WOLO) Richland County, S.C. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to take a second look at these 8 adorable dogs who have been rehabilitated and are now ready for adoption. Officials say all of the dogs have been tested and gone through vigorous temperament testing and have been cleared to go to area homes, if they are not adopted they may eventually have to be put down. Right now the Sheriff’s Department is supporting the dogs with community donations. Still, that money will not last forever and they’d like to be able to find these four legged friends new homes. The dogs were discovered back in September, many of them trained to kill or be killed. Some of them forced to wear heavy chains, endure torturous ear clipping and were forced to fight other dogs. So far, the department has arrested 7 people in connection with the dog ring who face charges including dog fighting and mistreatment of animals. If you would like to Foster or Adopt a dog you can contact Palmetto Lifeline at 803-622-4748 or make a check donation payable to The Richland County Sheriff’s Foundation at 5623 Two Notch Road, Columbia, S.C.
