USC researchers give 2012 economic predictions

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — University of South Carolina researchers are giving their 2012 economic predictions for the state and nation.

The school’s 31st annual Economic Outlook Conference is scheduled for Wednesday in the Darla Moore School of Business.

This year’s theme is “Prognosis for a Fragile Recovery.”

Wells Fargo chief economist John Silvia is delivering the keynote speech on the impact of election-year politics on economic recovery. South Carolina Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt will discuss state government’s strategies for economic growth.
