Beaufort County lighting Christmas tree

BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) — Folks are ringing in the season in Beaufort County.

The County Council holds its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony Monday in front of the county courthouse.

The event is being held during a recess in the regular county council meeting and will feature a message from council Chairman Weston Newton, carols led by a local church choir and a visit from Santa Claus.
