Husband charged with killing wife in SC Walmart

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A Simpsonville man has been charged with murder in the death of his wife, who was stabbed to death inside a Greenville County Walmart.

Sheriff’s office Master Deputy Jennings Autry says 47-year-old Avery L. Blandin is charged with murder in the death of 38-year-old Lilia Blandin. Lilia Blandin worked at a bank inside Walmart. She was taken to a hospital, where she died Saturday.

Avery Blandin was arrested shortly after the stabbing when he was involved in a traffic accident. He was still in a hospital Sunday, and a bond hearing hadn’t been scheduled.

It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.
