Gov. Haley Endorses Mitt Romney

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP)– South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley says there are no perfect candidates in this year’s Republican presidential primary. But she endorsed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney on Friday, saying his positions come closest to matching the best interests of the state. Haley says spending a year as South Carolina’s governor has helped her realize how hard it is to run a state compared to being a member of the legislature. She says Romney showed leadership by making decisions, not just voting on things. Haley is following her endorsement by campaigning with Romney in Greenville on Friday and Charleston and Myrtle Beach on Saturday. Haley endorsed Romney in 2008 when she was a state lawmaker. And Romney and his state political action committees gave $63,000 to Haley’s 2010 gubernatorial campaign.
