Highway grant to improve US 301-I95 interchange

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — The nation’s top highway official has announced a $12 million grant to improve an interstate interchange in Orangeburg County.

Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendez made the announcement Orangeburg on Friday.

The funds will be used with money already secured for the $26 million improvement project.

The money will be used to build a southbound access ramp from U.S. 301 to Interstate 95. It will also be used to extend U.S. 301 from the interchange to a nearby site to be used for a distribution center.
