Board members named to Haley’s aid foundation

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has named the board members of her community aid foundation.
Haley named herself chairwoman of the Original Six foundation board Monday, and added 10 more members, including the president of Duke Energy South Carolina, the president of AT&T South Carolina, the leader of the state Department of Employment and Workforce and a member of the State Ports Authority board.
Haley said last week she’s setting up the nonprofit with her $550,000 advance on a book out on April 3, along with more than $200,000 left over from money raised privately for her January inauguration.
The foundation’s efforts involve state agencies and local leaders assessing what counties need most, such as basic medical care and school books, then enlisting companies and non-government groups to help.
