Christmas Sunday Church Plans

Although metro-area churches will stay committed to traditional Sunday worship times, some congregations in the Midlands are altering Sunday service. Senior Pastor Darrell Jackson, with Bible Way Church of Atlas Rd., believes continuing on Sunday, even though Christmas falls on that day this year, is a no-brainer. However, Pastor Brian Thomas, with NorthStar Christian Center, is convinced more people will show up to church on the day before the holiday because they would rather be with their family on Christmas day. Bible Way will combine its two regularly scheduled morning worship times of 8:00am and 11:00am to 10:00am Sunday. The church will offer overflow seating and jumbo screens. The Christmas Eve service at NorthStar will include a time of worship, the preached word and communion, beginning at 6:00pm. Bible Way is located at 2440 Atlas Rd., Columbia. NorthStar is located at 711 Longtown Rd., Columbia.
