Spartanburg, Greenville have lowest gas prices

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Greenville and Spartanburg have the lowest gasoline prices in South Carolina for the Christmas holiday.

AAA Carolinas says the average price for a gallon of gasoline in South Carolina is $3.03. Gas prices in South Carolina this year are up 23 cents a gallon from last year’s average of $2.80.

The average for Greenville and Spartanburg is $3.00 per gallon. Myrtle Beach had the highest average price at $3.07.

AAA estimates nearly 1.2 million South Carolinians motorists will travel more than 50 miles by Jan. 2.
