Mother, son, man sentenced in SC stabbing
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A Mullins woman and her teenage son have been sentenced to prison for the 2009 robbery of a store in Aynor in which the owner was stabbed and had an eye gouged out.
Craig Martin was stabbed more than 20 times in the leg. He told a judge Tuesday not to show the defendants any mercy. The mother and son, as well as a Bennettsville man, all had pleaded guilty to various charges.
Forty-year-old Kimberly O’Neill was sentenced to 15 years in prison while her 17-year-old son Kenneth Christian O’Neill got 12 years. The youth was charged as an adult because of the seriousness of the crime.
Thirty-four-year-old Antonio Dion Gilbert was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
The trio got about $2,000 during the robbery.
