Spartanburg County man dies in fire

ROEBUCK, S.C. (AP) — A Spartanburg County man has died in an early morning house fire near Roebuck.

The coroner’s office says 36-year-old Christopher Shawn Henson died at his home early Thursday.

Croft Fire Chief Lewis Hayes says the mobile home was engulfed in flames when they arrived. Hayes says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The victim’s mother, Sheila Henson and her fiancee, 42-year-old James Harris, were asleep in the home when the fire started. They say the victim woke them to tell them to get out.

An autopsy was planned Thursday.
