South Carolina Farmers Market open for winter

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Despite the onset of winter, South Carolina produce is on sale at the state Farmers Market.

Beginning Saturday and running each weekend through the end of March, the Winter Farmers Market will be in open every Saturday at the market complex in West Columbia.

The state Agriculture Department and the state Specialty Foods Association are sponsoring the market indoors in the Corbett Building at the market complex.

The building is heated and the market will feature everything from local eggs and greens to honey produced in South Carolina.
