COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — At a press conference Thursday, Amir’s grandmother, Jocelyn Jennings, pleaded for help. She spent time describing little Amir, saying he goes by such names as “Mir Mir” or “A.J.” She also mentioned he had four to six front teeth and a distinctive gap, all of these are things she is telling the public in hopes of finding Amir. “My family and I are asking for your support,” says Jocelyn Jennings, Grandmother of Amir Jennings. One week after police say cadaver dogs searched her home in downtown Columbia, Jocelyn Jennings and her family spoke out for the first time to ask for help in finding her Grandson, Amir Jennings. “I believe that Amir could be in the Atlanta area, Charlotte area and of course Columbia, our home,” says Jennings. Amir was last seen on Thanksgiving and Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott says they’re still trying to put all the pieces together. In early December, Jocelyn Jennings filed a missing persons report regarding her dauther, Zinah and Amir. Weeks later, Zinah was invovled in a traffic accident. But Amir, was no where to be found. Since then, police say Zinah has repeatedly lied to them about Amir’s whereabouts. First saying he was in Atlanta, then according to a search warrant, Zinah took police to an apartment complex where she claimed to have left Amir, but once they arrived, she told them she did not know the apartment number. “We aren’t leaving anything to chance, we aren’t leaving any stone unturned,” says Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott. In a search warrant obtained by ABC Columbia News, we’ve learned police took items from Zinah’s bedroom. But, police will not say what those items are. Police say cadaver dogs have also been used to search Zinah’s car. Columbia Police say they have received tips from the Atlanta area, but they still don’t have the piece they are looking for. “I’m fearful, I will tell you I’m concerned,” says Chief Scott. But Chief Scott says, they are not giving up. “Amir is out there somewhere and we are not going to stop until we find out where,” says Chief Scott.
