Governor Haley Ready To Unveil Budget.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is ready to unveil her first executive budget. Haley is scheduled to lay out her proposal for the 2012-13 state budget on Friday. The Republican governor has repeatedly said she wants any excess to pay down debt or go back to the taxpayer. Budget advisers expect an additional $913.4 million in one-time and recurring revenue for 2012-13. That’s because of surplus from the last fiscal year, more money coming in this year than legislators budgeted, plus continued growth. But advisers warned legislators this week the outlook is not nearly as rosy as it seems. Required increases gobble up most of that money. Haley has said she wants to lower individual income taxes and begin eliminating the state’s corporate income tax.
