Haley Unveils Her 2012-13 Budget Proposal
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Joined by several state department heads, South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley laid out her fiscal vision via her first executive budget. The Republican governor proposes adding millions to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and the Department of Mental Health, while offering tax breaks for corporations and individuals and no salary increases for state employees. Some members of the General Assembly believe many goals included in the governor’s budget will be a tough sale.
