Primary week forum focuses on polarized politics

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A forum scheduled for the College of Charleston is focusing on polarization in this year’s presidential election.

The event is being held Wednesday evening.

The speakers include Elliot Ackerman, the chief operating officer of the public interest organization Americans Elect. He will be joined by College of Charleston political scientist Jordan Ragusa, author Dave Gillespie and veteran South Carolina political correspondent Lee Bandy.

South Carolina’s GOP presidential primary is scheduled for Saturday. It is the first in the South.
