Romney rolls out final SC primary ad
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is rolling out a TV ad with his closing appeal for votes in Saturday’s South Carolina primary, taking a swipe at President Barack Obama’s economic policies and making a tough-to-keep promise to restore the nation’s triple-A credit rating.
The ad airing on South Carolina stations moves sharply away from attacks on GOP opponents made for weeks by Romney and a political action committee backing him.
It uses clips from Romney’s victory speech in New Hampshire two weeks ago and video from campaign stops on factory floors around the country.
The ad says Obama wants to transform America but Romney’s ready to lead the country on a different path. It says Obama lost the nation’s vaunted credit rating and Romney will restore it.
