Joe Riley giving state of Charleston address
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Charleston Mayor Joe Riley is updating residents on the state of the city.
Riley is giving his state of the city address in city council chambers Tuesday evening. Riley won a tenth term in office in November.
He’s expected to discuss infrastructure needs such as completing Interstate 526 through the Charleston suburbs, plans for a new cruise terminal and the economic outlook for South Carolina’s second-largest city.
Riley has served as mayor longer than anyone in Charleston’s 342-year history.
