Funeral Services for Fallen Aiken Police Officer

AIKEN, SC (WJBF) –Funeral services for Major Corporal Sandra Rogers have been scheduled for Wednesday. Aiken County Police say Rogers was shot and killed Saturday morning on the 1000 block of Edgefield Avenue, near Church Street. Investigators say Corporal Rogers responded to a suspicious vehicle in the area, when she was shot and killed. Investigators with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) say 26 year-old Joshua Tremaine Jones shot and killed Public Safety Master Corporal Rogers. This is the second officer killed in the line of duty in recent months. Shellhouse Funeral Homes is coordinating the services for the Rogers family. The family will receive friends and famly on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at Shellhouse Funeral Home. It’s located at 924 Hayne Avenue, Aiken SC 29801. Funeral services will be held at the Aiken Convocation Center at 1pm on Wednesday.
