Civilian reserve police officer killed in wreck
WAYNESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say a civilian reserve officer for the Waynesboro Police Department has been killed in a collision with a logging truck.
The Augusta Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/zIuinY) that 65-year-old Raymond Bosher was driving on Drone Road when he turned left on Georgia Highway 24 into the path of an 18-wheeler logging truck.
Waynesboro Police Chief Alfonzo Williams says the accident occurred around 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Bosher was a retired Springfield, S.C., police chief.
He joined the Waynesboro police as a reserve officer in 2008 and worked as a gunsmith for the Burke County Sheriff’s Office.
