Man gets life for Marlboro bathtub stabbing death
BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A Bennettsville man has been sentenced to life in prison for the stabbing death of a woman nearly two years ago.
SCNow.com reported (http://bit.ly/A7xQaz ) a Marlboro County jury deliberated about 30 minutes Thursday before finding 37-year-old John Hogan Jr. guilty of murder.
Twenty-nine-year-old Monesha Shante Brown of Bennettsville was reported missing June 16, 2010. Brown’s body was found in some woods in Marlboro County.
Investigators say Hogan told them he took Brown to his home and became upset when he saw her going through his wallet. Hogan said he stabbed the woman in the bathtub.
Prosecutor Mary Thomas Lee says Hogan stuffed her body into a barrel and took it to some woods.
