Police: No sign of missing Mount Pleasant woman
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) — Mount Pleasant police are asking for the public to help them find a 30-year-old woman whose fiance committed suicide just hours after she was reported missing.
Investigators said Tuesday that Dara Watson’s SUV was found burning in the woods last week, and someone who gave her fiance a ride back from the woods to his home saw him walking with a shovel.
Police say Watson has not been seen since Feb. 6, when she argued with 34-year-old David Hedrick over their wedding while she was visiting her family in Boone, N.C.
Authorities say Hedrick killed himself in the couple’s Mount Pleasant home with a gunshot wound Friday, just after Watson’s boss reported her missing. He didn’t leave a note.
Police refused to say whether they think Watson is still alive.
