League of Women Voters meeting in McCormick

McCORMICK, S.C. (AP) — The League of Women Voters of South Carolina is having a public meeting in McCormick.

The Index-Journal of Greenwood reports (http://bit.ly/AC1eyC) that the group is meeting on Tuesday at McCormick County Library.

Last fall, the organization had a meeting in McCormick for membership in a possible local chapter.

Organizers say the second planning meeting will let the League meet with residents about upcoming elections, civic government policies and other issues for improving life in the community.

The League of Women Voters is a nonprofit organization that encourages people to be involved in government.
