Lowcountry couple win $1 million in Mega Millions
COTTAGEVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Call it the million dollar lunch.
A Summerville woman won $1 million in the Mega Millions lottery after stopping at a convenience store in Cottageville to pick up fried chicken for her husband’s lunch. .
The South Carolina Education Lottery did not identify the couple but the woman’s husband called it the best $2 they ever spent.
The odds of winning were more than one in one million.
The couple plans to pay off debt, put money aside for their children’s education and write a check to their church. The woman is also looking to buy a new car.
