Summerville woman admits role in child’s death

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A Summerville woman has pleaded guilty to homicide by child abuse in the death of her boyfriend’s son.

Twenty-six-year-old Grace Trotman also pleaded guilty to desecration of human remains.

Police say Trotman helped her boyfriend wrap 2-year-old Rodricus Fred Williams’ body in garbage bags, put it in a trash can and fill the can with 400 pounds of cement in 2010.

She faces up to life in prison on the homicide charge and as much as 10 years in prison on the desecration charge.

The Berkeley County coroner ruled the boy died of a blow to the head.

Thirty-one-year-old Roger Williams is awaiting trial in Berkeley County on a charge of homicide by child abuse.

The body was found behind an abandoned mobile home in Orangeburg County.
