COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is in the nation’s capital for the Republican Governors Association’s winter conference.
Haley will be attending association events in Washington through Monday.
Her schedule includes a group meeting Monday morning with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden at the White House. Haley and her husband, Michael Haley, will also join fellow governors and their spouses in meeting with First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden.
Haley’s schedule for the trip includes two fundraisers and a TV interview.
The Republican Governors Association was founded in 1963. Its website says its primary mission is to help elect Republican governors, while providing its members with resources to help them govern effectively.
