Cops: Voorhees player charged with murder

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a Voorhees College basketball play is one of two men arrested in the shooting of a man who bled to death in his Swansea home.

Lexington County deputies say they arrested 24-year-old Henry Norris Johnson, Jr., on Saturday on murder, burglary and armed robbery charges. Deputies say they also arrested 21-year-old Justin K. Washington on similar charges.

Investigators say Johnson, Washington and another man, Patrick Larry, planned to rob 43-year-old Matthew Milhouse Jr. at his home Feb. 12 and ended up shooting him in the leg with a shotgun. Authorities say Milhouse bled to death.

Voorhees’ roster listed Johnson as a junior point guard.

Johnson is related to Larry, who has also been charged with murder. It wasn’t clear if any of the defendants had attorneys.
