Man, woman die in Orangeburg County shootings

EUTAWVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Orangeburg County sheriff’s deputies think the deaths of a woman and man in Eutawville were a murder-suicide.

Sheriff Leroy Ravenell says officers were called to two locations within 10 minutes of each other Saturday evening.

Deputies were called to a store on old state Highway 6 after an employee heard a single gunshot and saw a woman fall to the ground as a pickup truck sped away.

Ravenell says the woman had been talking to a man in the vehicle when she was shot.

Coroner Samuetta Marshall says the woman was 42-year-old Anngenette Shaw of Eutawville.

A few minutes later, officers found 53-year-old Kenneth Burch of Eutawville dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The sheriff says Burch had visited his mother just before going home and shooting himself.
