SC man charged in shooting death at NC flea market

FLETCHER, N.C. (AP) — A South Carolina man has been arrested in the shooting death of a man at a flea market in western North Carolina.

Henderson County Sheriff’s deputies say two vendors argued at a flea market in Fletcher on Sunday morning before one of them shot the other.

Twenty-six-year-old Otha Ray Barefoot of Greer, S.C., is charged with murder.

Fifty-nine-year-old Paul Allen Bradish of Asheville died in the shooting.

Capt. Jerry Rice says witnesses provide a description of the suspect and Barefoot was arrested a short time later.

Owner Ben Campen Jr. says Sunday’s shooting was the first time any violence has happened at the market in Fletcher.

It was not clear if Barefoot has a lawyer.
