3 Students Hurt in School Bus Wreck Near Hopkins

HOPKINS, S.C. (AP) _ Three middle school students were sent to the hospital after a pick-up truck hit their school bus near Hopkins. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the accident happened at around 7:45 a.m. Monday. Nine students and a driver were on their way to Hopkins Middle School and were stopped to pick up more students when the driver of a pickup truck ran into the back of the bus. Richland School District 1 officials say three students were taken to the hospital for neck, shoulder and head pain. Authorities say the driver of the truck has been charged with driving too fast for conditions.
