Clemson to face Auburn for third straight year

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson has an early season date with Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic, marking the third straight season the two teams with the same nickname will face each other.

The 2012 schedule released Monday shows the Tigers opening their Atlantic Coast Conference schedule at Florida State on Sept. 22. There’s also a Thursday night game at Wake Forest on Oct. 25.

Coach Dabo Swinney’s team ends the season with home games against Maryland on Nov. 10, North Carolina State on Nov. 17 and South Carolina on Nov. 24.

Other games at Death Valley include Ball State on Sept. 8, Furman on Sept. 15, Georgia Tech on Oct. 6 and Virginia Tech on Oct. 20. The Tigers also play at Boston College on Sept. 29 and at Duke on Nov. 3.
