Fire at Colonial Village Apartment claims one life
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — An early morning fire at the Colonial Village Apartment complex on West Avenue claims the life of an elderly woman. Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins explained the investigation, saying, “Anytime you have a fire death, you need to make sure you look at every aspect exactly, not only what happened as far as the fire is concerned but also how the person became deceased.” Fire officials have determined the cause to be accidental due to discarded smoking materials.
