Marion man faces charges in 2005 killing
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — A Marion man has been sent to Horry County to face charges in the 2005 shooting death of a man.
Twenty-four-year-old Robert M. Evans was sent to the Horry County jail earlier this week after he served a 30-month sentence for an attempted armed robbery in Marion County.
Evans is charged with murder in the shooting death of 66-year-old Sheldon Watts.
Evans and 46-year-old Willie L. Arthur were charged in December with murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Arthur has been in jail since October.
Police say an anonymous tip led them to the suspects.
Watts was found dead in the Green Sea community on May 10, 2005.
It was not clear if Evans has a lawyer for the latest charges.
