Lee County magistrate charged with DUI
BISHOPVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A Lee County magistrate has been charged with drunken driving following a weekend wreck.
Magistrate Charles Moses was arrested after the wreck Saturday afternoon about a mile from Interstate 20. The Highway Patrol says the judge’s car was found on an embankment in the front yard of a home.
Moses would not comment as he left the Sumter-Lee regional jail on Sunday. It was not clear if he has an attorney.
Jail officials say Moses’ blood alcohol level was .21 percent. The legal limit in South Carolina is .08 percent.
