Grand Strand firefighters battle rash of blazes
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A rash of separate fires along South Carolina’s Grand Strand has left three people injured and 12 people homeless.
Firefighters from various agencies in the Myrtle Beach area fought four separate fires on Wednesday.
The first occurred in Conway about 2 a.m.
Later there separate fires were reported in Surfside Beach and North Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach.
Nine people were left homeless in the fire in North Myrtle Beach and three were taken to a hospital for injuries.
The fourth fire occurred on Pawleys Island later in the day when a woman and her child safely escaped their burning home.
