2nd person arrested in death of N. Charleston man

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — A second man has been arrested in the weekend shooting death of a pizza delivery man in North Charleston.

Police say 18-year-old Demetrius Davis of North Charleston surrendered Tuesday afternoon and is charged with murder and armed robbery.

Nineteen-year-old Stephawn Sherod Brown of North Charleston also is charged with murder and armed robbery.

Police say 20-year-old Maraleius Birdsong of North Charleston was shot in the head around 8:30 p.m. Friday at an apartment complex.

Police spokesman Spencer Pryor says Birdsong discovered no one had ordered a pizza at the address he was given and he was confronted as he returned to his vehicle.

Police think the killer took the pizza and about $38 in cash.

It was not clear if Davis has a lawyer.
