Arrest made in shooing over drugs in Greenville

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Greenville County deputies say they arrested a man who killed one man and shot another while trying to take marijuana from him.

Authorities said 23-year-old Colby Thomas was taken into custody Monday at a motel in Anderson and charged with murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and other charges.

Investigators say 53-year-old Joseph Hornick Jr. was shot Feb. 28 by someone trying to steal marijuana and money from him.

Arrest warrants indicate deputies are looking for a second man, but did not identify him.

Thomas is being held at the Greenville County jail without bond. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.
