Man dies after being shot in vehicle in Charleston
CHARLESLTON, S.C. (AP) — Charleston police say a man has died after he was shot in a sports utility vehicle.
Police say 27-year-old Joshua D. Wilder was pulled from the overturned SUV Tuesday afternoon and was taken to a hospital where he later died.
Police spokesman Charles Francis says no suspect has been identified.
Witnesses said a number of shots were fired.
Charleston County court records show Wilder had been charged with murder in 2008. The charge was later dropped. Another man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
