COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Nickelodeon Theatre, South Carolina’s only non-profit art house film theater, launches the second phase of its Move the Nick Capital Campaign to renovate and move the theater, hoping to continue an economic boom in downtown Columbia. Mayor Steve Benjamin joined Nickelodeon Theatre Executive Director Andy Smith to make the announcement. Through gifts from the corporate community and the City of Columbia, the theater is able to begin Phase II of the Move the Nick campaign, which will allow for completion of construction of its offices and second-floor theater. The theater is set to open in August.
