Gas Prices Projected to…Decline
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — The price of Carbob, a key ingredient used in some fuel, has gone down consistently for the past month, and economists say that trend could make its way eastward to the Palmetto State, causing gas prices to drop. According to economists, the price of CARBOB (California Reformulated Gasoline Blendstock for Oxygenate Blending), a key ingredient used in fuel sold in California has dropped by about $.50 in the last month. Because California often sets the economical tone for the rest of the country, if gas goes down there, prices should follow suit here. Additionally, conflict in the Middle East, which is where the crux of the need for crude oil resides, appears to be resolving. For Sherrie Jefferson, who drives nearly 100 miles daily, that’s good news. “I hope and pray the cost of gas goes down.”
